Tokens are collectibles introduced in 123 Slaughter Me Street 2. Each token is printed with illustrations of all the threats from 123 Slaughter Me Street games and 123 Slaughter Me Street 2, and included the Hunter (A Character that was in neither games but was still planned). The colors of the tokens are mostly based off the colors of the characters (Nightmare being red, Greeter and Stalker being pink, Follower and Seeker being blue, Etc.).

Appearances[]

123 Slaughter Me Street 2[]

There are eight coins scattered inside the House, each on a different level and location. While optional, Collecting each of these tokens gives the player a steam achievement called "The Collector". The areas and levels in which they are located are as listed here:

Locations[]

  • Parlor- The Stalker's token is located on the bottom right shelf in the armoire in the opposite corner from the television. The token is pink and is found in Level 1.
  • Parlor- The Greeter's token is located on the second shelf in the dresser. The token is light pink and is found in Level 3.
  • Kitchen- The Waiter's token is in the lower cupboards second to the right. The coin is lime green and is found in Level 4.
  • Garage - The Hunter's token is located on the third table from the second shelf. The coin is yellow and is found in Level 5.

Slaughter Me Street 1999[]

The Tokens return as optional collectibles once the player beats a level on any difficulty. There are now nine tokens that spawn randomly around the map that can be picked up. The tokens have been given new art based on the new model renders of the cast with Gomez being added in. In the main levels, the tokens do not alert any creatures and do not trigger a phase change if the player is still in Pre-Game should they be interacted with.

In the 4.1.23/ April Fools version of the demo, the Tokens are used as the main collectable in the Forest level. These tokens have a preset location and are not randomly spawned on the map unlike the House. As the game does not treat Tokens the same way as Relics at this point, the game is stuck in "Pre-game" no matter how many tokens are collected. If all the tokens are collected in the Forest the game will crash.

In the 1.0.7 Demo, Tokens are once again the main collectable in one of the challenges called "Claustrophobia" as a Token Hunt challenge. The Tokens used in Token Hunt levels function similarly to the Relics in normal levels as they not only trigger the Seek phase should the player grab a token before the Pre-game phase ends, but also make a alert sound similar to the Relics that will alert the nearest creature to where the Token was. The amount needed may also vary as compared to the April Fools build, "Claustrophobia" only requires five tokens before unlocking an exit. In later updates the Tokens became required to access the different challenge levels.

Trivia[]

  • Originally in Slaughter Me Street 1999, the amount of Tokens would have stayed as eight rather than nine. This was because it was originally going to exclude the Nightmare because of his status as the "Main Antagonist", with Gomez being the replacement. However, This was overlooked when renders were being made, resulting in nine tokens total.
  • In 123 Slaughter Me Street 2, The Hunter uses a design similar to the teaser art for the second game including the small horns and nostrils along his trunk. But in Slaughter Me Street 1999 he uses his new Evolutions design.
  • The tokens were speculated to appear in the third game, but there has been no confirmation on this since development has started from scratch.
