Oh by the way, you have a flashlight.

— Tutorial.

Flashlight is a main mechanic and tool the player uses through out the 123 Slaughter Me Street series.

Gameplay[]

123 Slaughter Me Street[]

In 123 Slaughter Me Street, the flashlight helps the player progress through the apartment. It helps by stunning the puppets and must be shone at the hidden relics to collect them. Sometimes the flashlight doesn't stay on, and the player must keep the flashlight on in the stairs to avoid getting killed by the Follower before the floor is complete.

123 Slaughter Me Street 2[]

In 123 Slaughter Me Street 2, the flashlight is extremely useful in the darkened areas and locating the Hiding Spots and Safe Zones on the map. Unlike in the first game, the flashlight works perfectly. Also unlike the first game, the flashlight only works on one demon: The Screamer. The other demons are immune entirely, but flashing the light at Screamer will stun him potentially preventing him from alerting the other threats in the level.

The Retro titles[]

In 123 Slaughter Me Street Retro the flashlight is used to ward off the puppets by shining it at at them and to fight the Nightmare. The flashlight in this game also has batteries which will deplete whenever the player uses up the flashlight's power meter. Should the Player be killed when out of flashlight batteries and the meter is empty, Nightmare will give the player an extra battery while also giving them a strike. Get three strikes and die when their flashlight is out of power and the player will not only get a game over, but will have to restart the game from the beginning,

In 123 Slaughter Me Street Super Retro The flashlight is used in the same way as it does in Retro.

Slaughter Me Street 1999[]

The Flashlight appears again in Slaughter Me Street 1999, This time it is capable of stunning any of the demons if stun mode is turned on by pressing the Spacebar at the cost of draining a lot of power. It's battery also works differently from the other games as it recharges over time. However, how fast it recharges depends on the difficulty and using stun mode uses a lot of the flashlight's battery. The Flashlight also recharges significantly faster if the player is hiding in a Safe Zone. Unlike in Slaughter Me Street 2, The Flashlight is not needed for finding the Safe Zones but can still be used to help locate Exits and Relics which will glow blue and pink respectively with the Flashlight turned on.
