Batteries are items that appear exclusively in the 123 Slaughter Me Street spin offs first appearing in 123 Slaughter Me Street Retro.
Appearances[]
The Retro Series[]
In 123 Slaughter Me Street Retro, the batteries debuted as an extra Flashlight meter the player has. The player starts out with 4 batteries when starting a game, each time the Flashlight's power meter goes down completely it consumes a battery, refilling the meter. The Player can only find batteries after a Nightmare boss fight or alternatively getting one from The Nightmare after running out of batteries, using up the power meter, and getting caught by one of the creatures. The latter method however will give the player a strike and will only work 3 times before forcing a restart. The Batteries are depicted as blue with a yellow lighting bolt on it.
In 123 Slaughter Me Street Super Retro, the batteries function exactly the same as they did in Retro. This game starts the player out with 5 batteries when doing the story mode, only being able to get more batteries when defeating the Nightmare after his first boss fight or from the Nightmare after getting a strike. While the default battery appearance is still the same as Retro's there are numerous cosmetics that will change the battery's colors.
Slaughter Me Street: 1999[]
In the Demo 1.0.7 update, Batteries were added into the game. Here they once again function as an additional flashlight meter where the player must reload the battery into the flashlight by pressing "R". In this game, the batteries are silver and red with a yellow lighting bolt. Batteries can be found around the map but the amount found and time they spawn will depend on the difficulty:
- On Easy difficulty, the player starts with 1 battery, and may find 2 batteries somewhere around the map.
- On Normal and Hard difficulty, the player does not start with any batteries, and may find 2 batteries in the map.
- On Nightmare difficulty, the player does not start with any batteries, and may find 1 battery in the map.
- On Slaughter difficulty, the player starts with 1 battery, and may not find any in the map until they collect enough relics. The game spawns a battery for every 2 relics that the player collects.
The way batteries spawn in levels such as the house can be in different spots each run much like the relics. However, these spawns are not limited to one per "zone" and could even be very close to one another if 2 or more batteries are currently in the map (For example: there's a chance that 2 battery spawns will appear around the TV in the living room of the House map almost putting them right next to each other). Batteries can also appear in challenges such as Empty Nester.
